Museums in a changing world: New challenges, new inspirations

Waikato Museum will host a Pecha Kucha style event where our staff will share their vision for our future museum.

From the exhibition team to the front of house staff, this presentation through the use of images and words will give a rare opportunity to experience the vision of a small but multi award-winning cultural institution.

We have timed this event as a lunch-hour experience which intends to be as colourful and diverse as the people who work behind the scenes to shape our world-class museum.

The event will be available on our face book page after the 18th,

International Museum Month May 2012
International Museum Month is a unique time for all museums globally to consider their roles in society. This year the theme is Museums in a Changing World: New Challenges, New Inspirations. The world is changing at a pace that is gathering momentum. This is creating concerns about climate change, the environment and how humans impact on the world. This year the Whanganui Regional Museum will celebrate those who think outside the square to develop and support sustainable technologies and to celebrate skills from the past that have sustainability as their focus.
