XSTRATA PERCIVAL PORTRAIT AWARD – EXTENDED VIEWING HOURS
To celebrate the event, Perc Tucker Regional Gallery will be keeping its doors open late to allow a greater opportunity for residents, especially those who might not be able to visit during the daytime hours, to gain inspiration from the two floors of portraits currently on display in the Xstrata Percival Portrait Award.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to create their own digital self portrait, using two interactive drawing stations and mirrors set up within the exhibition space. Visitors can also choose to post their creations to the Gallery’s flickr page.

Harry Daly Museum, Edgecliff, Sydney
Pop-up museum in shopping centre and museum open to the public
The Harry Daly Museum promotes the fascinating history of anaesthesia. It will showcase some of its precious objects outside the museum walls to celebrate this year’s International Museum’s Day. Shoppers in the Edgecliff Centre, Sydney will be engaged to discover the successful story about ether and chloroform from 10.00-4.00 on Friday 18 May. The museum will also open its doors for the public during the day from 10.00-4.00.
The pop-up museum will be located in the Edgecliff Shopping Centre near ALDI (New South Head Rd cnr Ocean Street).
The Harry Daly Museum is located in the same building at the ASA headquarters. It is located above the Edgecliff train station in the Eastpoint Tower on level 6. Public parking is available off New McLean Street. Please take the last entry on the left and proceed to the visitor’s parking level (yellow). Then, follow the signs to suite 603.

Waikato Museum will host a Pecha Kucha style event where our staff will share their vision for our future museum.
From the exhibition team to the front of house staff, this presentation through the use of images
and words will give a rare opportunity to experience the vision of a small but multi award-winning cultural institution.
We have timed this event as a lunch-hour experience which intends to be as colourful and diverse as the people who work behind the scenes to shape our world-class museum.

International Museum Month is a unique time for all museums globally to consider their roles in society. This year the theme is Museums in a Changing World: New Challenges, New Inspirations. The world is changing at a pace that is gathering momentum. This is creating concerns about climate change, the environment and how humans impact on the world. This year the Whanganui Regional Museum will celebrate those who think outside the square to develop and support sustainable technologies and to celebrate skills from the past that have sustainability as their focus.

The United States Department of Energy Solar Decathlon challenges collegiate teams to design, build and operate solar powered houses that are cost effective, energy efficient and attractive.
