More and more museums and countries around the world are celebrating International Museum Day!

This year Guatemala decided to dedicate the whole month of May to celebrate and promote museums.
Public, private museums as well as churches and universities organized special activities all along the month of May. Notably the Department of Museums and Cultural Centers, a unit of the Directorate General of Cultural and Natural Heritage prepared a dedicated program in the following museums:
Museo Nacional de Arqueología y Etnología, Guatemala; Museo Nacional de Arte Moderno Carlos Mérida, Guatemala; Museo Nacional de Historia, Guatemala; Museo Nacional de Historia Natural, Guatemala y Palacio Nacional de la Cultura, Guatemala.
Like every year the 18th of May all museums of the Ministry of Culture and Sport will grant free entry to the public.
